Dr. Francis Oleghe is a legal practitioner and arbitrator, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, and a member of its Panel of Neutrals. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990.
He has authored and co-authored over 30 academic articles on alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Notably, his co-authored work, “Damages Awards in International Investment Arbitration and the Question of Fair Compensation,” based on an MPhil dissertation, was indexed by UNCITRAL in 2023 as relevant to its work.
He is a member of UNCITRAL Working Groups II and III, contributing actively to deliberations. He has also attended several ADR trainings, including an 80-hour course on International Investment Arbitration organised by ICSID, Georgetown University, and the International Law Institute in 2019.
He has acted as Sole Arbitrator and Counsel in notable matters and has facilitated arbitration trainings, including a UNHCR-sponsored ADR programme in Maiduguri.
